i’m thinking that he would be on the client-side of the transaction, but the article isn’t quite clear, but I guess the French police aren’t helping much.

I think this is where the line becomes blurred. If he acts as both client and then distributor, he gets in a lot more hot water. He secures the services of the girls, imports them, and then doles them out to his guests. Sounds more like pimping to me (at this point).

if he is a pimp, why would someone with his money even fuck around with prostitution (beyond a “personal use” level)?
i could see that someone of his wealth could believe that he’s “above the law” and it’s not like trading pussy is the same arms trading…
do you think he is making a profit on these girls at the end of the day, or is he securing their services for the purpose of “sharing the wealth”? if he is a truly self-made man, it’s not hard to think that the guy just became used to finding a profit in every opportunity, if he is truly a pimp in this situation. but, if he doles them out to his guest under the guise of hospitality and eats the cost himself, he’s not a pimp; he’s just a great guy to be buddies with during winter holiday.
in either case (and regardless of the potential penalties he’s facing), doesn’t it just make you want to smack him on the forehead a few times while asking him how he got to be so “stupid… stupid… stupid”?
